October is almost here and that means it’s time to embrace all things fall! I love this season for so many reasons. The leaves, the pumpkins, the smells. It’s all so cozy!
It’s great to bring that fall coziness into the classroom as well. For some fun ways to add a fall or Halloween touch to your classroom or lessons, check out my post here.
Another great way to do this is by reading fall inspired books with your students.
I always love connecting other classroom lessons with our literacy activities, so reading books with a fall theme is a great way to tie everything in with the season.
Here are my favorite books to read in October
The Candy Corn Contest by Patricia Reilly Giff
The Little Scarecrow Boy by Margaret Wise Brown
The Pumpkin Book by Gail Gibbons
How Big Could Your Pumpkin Grow? by Wendell Minor
The Legend Of Spookley the Square Pumpkin by Joe Troiano
How Many Seeds In A Pumpkin? by Margaret McNamara
Pumpkin Circle: The Story of a Garden by George Levenson
The Pumpkin Plan by Mike Michalowicz
Too Many Pumpkins by Linda White
These books all have a fun fall theme which make them great for this time of year. If you want some engaging STEM challenges to do with your students for fall, check out these fall or Halloween STEM challenges!
