November is such a full month, Veteran’s Day and then to Thanksgiving Holiday Activities. STEM Fridays are a regular routine in my classroom. I try to have an engineering design challenge and connect it with a book or a science/social studies concept. One of my favorites is with the book Balloons Over Broadway by Melissa Sweet.
This story is
about how a puppeteer started the Macy’s Day Parade and how it changed over the years. I love integrating STEM to inventors of history. Tony Sarg was an innovator and a creative puppeteer. When students learn about how someone’s creativity changed the world it really inspires them to use their own creativity. Click here to check out 👉🏼 Thanksgiving Puppet and Float STEM Activity. Students design and create puppets and floats to have their own parade.
The next three challenges are fun and easy to implement. They are in a K-2 or 3-5 Thanksgiving/November STEM Product. The Totem Poles, Rain Sticks, and corn mazes have a research component.
Everyday is a Holiday November is a fun bundle of daily historical events connected to STEM.
