I love all of the different ideas and the suggestions of where the best place to set specific items. All of my classrooms in school basically looked the same with very little creativity so it's nice to see all of the different set ups one classroom can have and how well it works.

I agree with Donna. I feel like all of my classrooms growing up were similarly set up. I am realizing now that there needs to be a strategy in the set up of a classroom to avoid chaotic clutter. In my experience, I have only seen a kitchen dramatic play area, but I love the idea of a doctor's office or pizza parlor!

I found these links very helpful because you don't realize what an impact the set up of the classroom has on the child's learning. I really liked how the first link laid out very clearly on what an effective preschool classroom would look like. It was very clear about the lay out and offered creative ideas to implement within the classroom. These would be very helpful and inspiring to a new teacher trying to set up her room. And I find it very interesting how there is a general layout for all preschool rooms!

I thought that these articles were really helpful because since I am not a teacher yet, I did not remember the way that classroom layout affected the learning environment. I really enjoyed the wikikhow article about how to set up a classroom because it gave step by step examples. My favorite part was when the author listed specific supplies that were necessary. Overall, I really enjoyed reading these articles because they gave me more insight about how to decorate and set up a classroom.

I really liked these articles because they give meaning to what we are seeing in our practicum classrooms. The second link was probably my favorite because I liked how it showed all the different setups for classrooms. You also got to see different age levels which was cool. I loved seeing why teachers put things in specific areas and why/when they switch out their centers.

After reading these links, I learned a lot about classroom layouts and how crucial they can be for the student's behaviors and learning abilities. I really liked how each link had different classroom layouts recommended for a certain age group or grade. After looking at these layouts, I realize that some of the classrooms I have observed this year resemble some of these room layouts. Therefore, I find these links extremely beneficial for me as a future educator and will implement some of these ideas into my future classroom someday.

I really enjoyed looking at these different websites! I have never really given it much thought as to what goes on behind the scenes when planning how a classroom will be set up. I especially liked looking at the wikihow link because it broke down each center that you would find in a preschool and explained what you would find in there and how each center is used. It also showed you several pictures of how different preschools are set up. I also really liked the website that showed sample layouts of all different classrooms, like a Montessori classroom and different grade and age level classrooms. These will be great resources to look back on when we have a classroom of our own one day!

After being in the preschool for several weeks I knew there was some sort of method to how the classroom was set up, but I was not sure exactly what it was. It was interesting to read the articles on each website about teacher's different reasons for setting their classroom up a certain way. I especially liked the first article because it made you think about why you would put a center in a specific spot in the classroom. For example, putting the painting center near a sink so kids can have easy access to wash their hands. I also liked the website that showed actually picture of set ups of classrooms for different age groups. This was helpful because I could actually visualize what it would look like. These resources will not only be helpful for our project but for planning my future classroom!

I really enjoyed seeing all the different ways a classroom can be set up! I never realized what an impact the layout could have on students' behavior and learning. I liked the layout and suggestions the first site had the best. I enjoyed the ideas and specifies that all of the sites had for new teachers. I will definitely be using a site like that for my first class room!

After reviewing and looking at the different websites, I feel much more confident on how I would like to set up my future classroom. Each website provided some insight of what an effective layout of a classroom looks like. Prior to reviewing these websites, I understood how the physical layout of the room could affect not only the academics but also the behavior of the students, but I really appreciate the information provided to help us not create an ineffective classroom. I also did not know that there is a website where you could virtually create your own room design. I think that will be very useful in the future. Lastly, since I have been observing at a pre-school this semester I was able to make connections with the pictures and various designs offered on each website.

I think that all of these pages did a good job of illustrating the enormous amount of thought and planning that goes into designing a pre-k classroom. There are suggestions that I had not thought of, such as quiet areas such as the library should be located away from more active areas such as dramatic play. Another helpful suggestion was placing the science area next to a window in order to have plants, or work with prisms. I think my favorite page was Karen Cox's Pre-Kinders; I got a lot out of the tour of her current and previous classrooms.I definitely saw many of the design ideas implemented in my practicum classroom, and I now have a better understanding of the reasons behind it.

I really enjoyed looking at these pages. I have visited a couple pre K's and it is interesting to see how each teacher sets up their classroom differently. I personally enjoyed the first article because it talked about the reasons why centers should be set up a specific way. I also got to see how to set up a bible center, which I had never seen before. It is something I would consider if I was to become a PreK teacher. I really like the 3D classroom designs also. It was nice to see classroom designs for older ages, which I am interested in. Overall, I definitely see myself using these sites in the future.
