Thursday, August 28, 2014, Shaw Elementary teachers joined the ALS ice bucket challenge. Before the ice-bucketing, our school raised over $1,000 to fight the ALS disease! We just needed just $600 for the teachers to join, a couple hundred more for the specialty teachers to come in, and a whopping $1,000 for Mrs. Voss, the principal, and Mrs. Bewley, the vice principal, to help find a cure and join the freezing ice bucket challenge! But we didn’t stop there, we exceeded that $1,000 and went “above and beyond”, after all we are the stars!
